I am delighted to be given the chance to start the Morris Healthcare Group’s Blog. Where do i start?
At the beginning would be good wouldn’t it?
Morris Healthcare Group has quite an incredible story behind it. Our CEO and founder Jessica Susan Morris back in 2019 was the youngest care home Manager and with her passion for care and drive she was successful in progressing in her career to a Regional Director overseeing 10 different care homes. December 2023 Jessica received news that she had stage 4 cancer, the now uncertain future gave Jessica a different drive and passion for life. She decided to step out of her role within the care sector try a new career path of Tattooing, something Jessica is renowned for is her spark of creativity and strong willed attitude. While creating some phenomenal pieces of art and building a new empire, deep down she missed her previous care career and with her recent diagnosis knew that she still wanted to make a difference in the lives of those who need additional support. Should she ever need care in her life time she would want to be cared for by those who share the same passion and put the ‘care’ back in to the care sector.
This is where the idea of Morris Healthcare Group began….
From just an idea, Jessica has now built the foundation of a compassionate Home Care provider in just a short amount of time. A provider who not only promotes person centred care but promotes independence and well-being. On-boarding a dedicated team of Healthcare professionals and Well-Being professionals to be able to deliver our vision and values to the local community. Everyone here at Morris Healthcare Group shares the same ethos and wants to create an amazing working culture for our team and deliver quality care and support to our clients.
Our Journey so far.
Knowing Jessica previously and admiring her passion and dedication, when she expressed her idea to me I couldn’t wait to apply to join her team. Then in October I became Home Care Manager, which is an absolute honour. Within a few days we were lucky enough to secure the keys to our Head office in the beautiful location of Burton Latimer, a small town close to Kettering. Myself, Jessica, our family and our friends supported us in sourcing furniture to make our office look more like an office. Jessica wanted our base to be a place where our clients and their families and any visitors could come and feel welcome. We then welcomed our Director of Finance Lisa, our IT Engineer Kevin, then at the beginning of November we welcomed Gemma our Sales and Marketing Manager to the now ever growing team. Between us we have been behind the scenes creating policies and procedures, care plans, developing our website and preparing for our CQC licence. We celebrated our first Christmas as Morris Healthcare Group and have been more than ready to start the new year by introducing our Home Care Trainer and Field Supervisor Kayleigh. Its really amazing to have seen the growth of the team and have the office filled with like minded individuals. We are all looking forward to what 2025 holds.
